Reflections of Palestine

Description

Ramzi Aburedwan, born and raised in Palestine, discovered music at over fifteen years old. He is now an internationally renowned soloist and leads the National Ensemble of Arabic Music of Palestine. Enjoy on this instrumental album the sweetness of his bouzouki, accompanied by the oud, accordion, and percussion. The astonishing international career and talent of Ramzi remind us that his homeland is a place of culture, creativity, and beauty. Reflections Of Palestine is a selection of original compositions and arrangements by Ramzi that mark his personal history. Photographed as a child throwing stones at Israeli tanks, Ramzi has become an ambassador of peace and understanding through music. An image from 1987 shows an 8-year-old boy, dressed in jeans and a red jacket, about to violently throw the large stone he holds in his hand. The image of the little boy quickly spread and became an icon of the first Intifada. As a teenager, Ramzi took free music lessons. Discovering his talent, his world was turned upside down and music quickly became his profession, his life, and, above all, his weapon. Ramzi continued his studies in France, at the Conservatory of Angers. He then secured a place in the prestigious West-Eastern Divan Orchestra of Daniel Barenboim. He now performs as a soloist and leads the National Ensemble of Arabic Music of Palestine.
