"King Of A Land" is an album by Yusuf-Cat Stevens, to be released in May 2023. The album features the following songs: "Train On A Hill", "Pagan Run", "Highness", "The Boy Who Knew How To Climb Walls" and more. Accompanying the album is a booklet featuring artwork by award-winning children's illustrator Peter Reynolds, who has created illustrations for each song depicting the album's lyrical themes. Nearly 60 years have passed since a 17-year-old 'Cat' burst onto the pop scene with hits like "Matthew and Son" and "I'm Gonna Get Me a Gun," writing timeless classics such as "The First Cut Is The Deepest" and "Here Comes My Baby." These early songs were just the beginning of a long musical adventure that continues to this day. The enduring success of Yusuf's musical legacy rests on a myriad of factors, but one of them is his uncanny ability to translate his vibrant imagination into musical form. The album artwork was created by award-winning children's illustrator Peter Reynolds. In addition to the cover, he created illustrations for each song depicting the album's lyrical themes that feature in the accompanying booklet to the record. The earliest recording sessions for the album date back to 2011 at Hansa Studios in Berlin (the setting for classic albums such as David Bowie's "Low," U2's "Heroes," and "Achtung Baby"). From there, recording locations shifted over the years from ICP Studios in Brussels to La Fabrique in Provence, in the south of France. Additional overdubs and a 60-piece orchestra were recorded at Air and Angel Studios in London. With some key work originally recorded in Yusuf's own home studio in Dubai, which he calls "Dubville."
