With his first album, New Conception of Jazz, BUGGE WESSELTOFT (and his colleague Nils Peter Molvaer) had opened up a significant new path for innovative jazz. Years have passed, albums have followed one after another, and the Norwegian pianist has lost none of his particular vision for contemporary jazz. The "New Conception of Jazz" label present on all his albums is there to prove it. In this respect, the group decided not to work with sampling, like many of their peers, but rather on composition and improvisation using instruments. This album is a complex work on atmospheres (one might think of Miles from the 70s), whether groovy or more abstractly ethereal. The hyphen between the jazz and electro worlds is Bugge Wesseltoft, and this re-release is the proof!
