To celebrate their 15 years of collaboration, the members of BossaCucaNova draw from the wave of national optimism, the founding energy of their new album. On 11 catchy tracks, Márcio Menescal (the son of Roberto Menescal, a pioneer of bossa nova), Marcelinho DaLua, and producer/sound engineer Alex Moreira feature numerous guests and also emphasize this other local specialty that is Samba. Right from the start, the atmosphere is set by an evocation of the great neighbor to the North with a cover of Adeus America, featuring Os Cariocas, a vocal group of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira). Founded by Ismaël Neto in 1942, this group is legendary. The voice of singer Wilson Simoninha can also be heard. A longtime friend, Marlon Sette, adds a sinuous flow of trombones, while guitarist Oscar Castro Neves, who passed away recently, brings a classical touch.
