After two studio albums - "Dying Breed" (2019) and "Untamed" (2022) - that marked the band's resurgence and cemented its musical and visual identity, the sleaze rockers of BlackRain, hailing from Annecy - Swan Hellion (vocals/guitar), Matthieu de la Roche (bass), and Max 2 (guitar) - took a "short break" to update some of the standout songs from their past. Bolstered by the addition of drummer Franky Costanza (Dagoba, Les Tambours du Bronx), the quartet simply decided to re-record/remix 10 previously released songs from "Lethal Dose Of" (2011) and "It Begins" (2013). The initial idea was to make these older tracks accessible to the wider audience who (re)discovered BlackRain from 2019 onwards, particularly via digital platforms; but also to bring them in line with the band's current sound. To do this, they teamed up with their friend Hannes Braun (singer of Kissin' Dynamite) who handled the final mix. Together, they developed this little bombshell titled "Hot Rock Time Machine," which BlackRain is about to independently release on the Single Bel label. Be warned, this musical "back to the future" is by no means a creative pause, as BlackRain already has most of the songs for their next studio album ready. But, after more than 20 years of existence, the band was keen not to leave essential songs from their career, often present in their concert setlists, by the wayside. Revisiting them, with Franky behind the drums, was also an opportunity for Swan, Matt, and Max to take stock and face the future stronger than ever!
