Knife Of Sin

Description

Big'n is a noise-rock band formed in 1990 in Joliet, a suburb of Chicago. After a series of obscure 7-inch singles, Big'n recorded two albums with Steve Albini, *Cutthroat* and *Discipline Through Sound*, both released by SkinGraft Records. The band then appeared on the famous double 7-inch AC/DC tribute record alongside Shellac, Brise-Glace, and U.S. Maple, also released by Skin Graft. Big'n broke up in 1997 before resuming activity in 2011 with a compilation of unreleased tracks, as well as a new 10-inch on the Africantape label. 2013 saw the arrival of Fred Popolo (Haymarket Riot), who replaced Mike Chartrand on bass. In May 2018, the band reunited with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio and recorded *Knife of Sin*, which, across six tracks, reveals an even darker and more powerful Big'n. This record, with its rigorously Albini-esque sound, highly recommended for fans of Jesus Lizard, Slint, Dazzling Killmen, Tortoise, and AC/DC, comes in unique aluminum packaging.
