Champs du possible

Description

The title 'Troisièmes couteaux' (Third-Rate Thugs), a sarcastic opening song, sets the tone: *Champs du Possible*, released in 1994, would be a highly political album, detailing all the disasters caused by zealous and ruthless executors of the major systems of power and money that govern the world's order – or rather, its disorder. Thus, he not only performs the work of a witness to a world explored from urban dusks to luckless ports, but also that of an awakening conscience and a whistleblower. This civic-minded singer who likes to take off (as he reminds us in 'Missing') records between Rio de Janeiro and Brussels. He is also deftly skilled: the song 'Grosse galette' (Big Bucks) and its London atmosphere "Melody, tempo, harmony / I sing my robber reggae in the basement (...)" would soon transport to Kingston and become 'Melody Tempo Harmony', a successful duet with superstar Jimmy Cliff.
