Invisibles
Description
Astrig Siranossian and Nathanaël Gouin bring to light rare works that time has (temporarily) rendered invisible. The first of these three sonatas for cello and piano, recorded at the Bibliothèque musicale La Grange-Fleuret, was composed by Jean Cras in 1901, when he was still a young naval officer of 22. In it, he demonstrates his early mastery of form and writing. A completely different atmosphere with the sonata by Pierre-Octave Ferroud, composed in 1932, four years before the car accident death of this very promising 36-year-old composer. The name of Marcelle Soulage is certainly the least known of the three. A student of Nadia Boulanger, a teacher, radio producer, and journalist in addition to her activity as a composer, she participated in the creation of the Groupe Instrumental Féminin in the 1950s. Composed in 1919 at the age of 25, her sonata in F-sharp minor reveals already very assertive inventive qualities.Buy Invisibles at the best price
