Aquaplaning

Description

Aquaplaning is a slow-motion skid, an underwater glide that serves as a pretext to tell a languid paradise, sometimes bitter and not entirely lost. Summer loves and tragedies intertwine across the 5 tracks, written and composed by Antonin Appaix between Paris and Marseille, his hometown. Some of these stories are fantasized, others inhabited by memories with photographic precision. In the background, a city and a sea, flowing into one another, catalyzing Antonin's memories and hopes. Musically, the record results from an opening to Rap, RNB, and Pop music after 10 years of playing garage and punk rock. Discovering these new sounds, Antonin gradually transformed into an apprentice sorcerer of the home studio and synths, tinkering and shaping the contours of a watery, urban pop.
