Esoteric Recordings releases a newly remastered clamshell box set of 5 CDs including the two original albums of the "Archive Collection" by the renowned composer and founding member of Genesis, Anthony Phillips. In addition to his work as a solo artist, Anthony has been a composer of music for television for many years, dating back to 1976, and these compositions form the backbone of these collections.
In March 1998, Anthony released the first volume of 'Archive Collection'. Due to the popularity of the release, a second volume 'Archive Collection' was released in May 2004. These titles gathered soundtrack compositions and rare archive recordings made by Anthony Phillips over the years. Anthony has now worked with his archivist Jon Dann to prepare this new box set edition of this wonderful music, compiling a new extended version containing 27 additional unreleased tracks and rare archives, including a 1966 demo from the pre-Genesis band The Anon and also an additional CD of 'The Masquerade Tapes' featuring music inspired by Kit Williams' illustrated book.
This new box set edition of the "Archive Collections I and II" features sleeve notes by Jon Dann and is a beautiful collection of music from one of Britain's most imaginative and respected musicians. It is sure to please aficionados of Anthony Phillips' highly regarded work.
