Animal Collective release their new studio album *Isn't It Now?* The quartet of Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin, and Geologist recorded *Isn't It Now?* with Grammy Award-winning producer Russell Elevado (D'Angelo, The Roots, Kamasi Washington), who co-produced and mixed the album.
At 64 minutes, *Isn't It Now?* is Animal Collective's longest album, with almost a third of its running time devoted to the haunting and eruptive ode to perseverance, "Defeat." But it is somehow succinct, like a stream of anxiety and beauty, nostalgia and progress, sadness and hope, that welcomes and expels you in one breath. It is also the most collective and cohesive album Animal Collective has recorded, this mindset providing some of the best songs the band has ever written. These nine tracks are exemplary from start to finish, both in the mindset employed and their execution.
