The British heavy metal band Angel Witch formed in London in 1976, becoming part of the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM) movement. An iconic figure of this movement, Angel Witch had a major influence on early 1980s metal, particularly on bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1980, is considered a foundational and influential work. The cover art reproduces the famous painting "The Fallen Angels Entering Pandemonium" by John Martin. At the time, the band consisted of Kevin Heybourne, Kevin Riddles, and Dave Hogg. The album contains their most popular track to date, "Angel Witch." A limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies, pressed on silver vinyl, is available.
