The swirling, metallic songs on Amber Arcades' impressive debut album, set to be released in early June by Heavenly, are the work of singer Annelotte De Graaf, who draws her inspiration "from time, continuity, coincidences and magic." *Fading Lines* was recorded in New York with producer Ben Greenberg (The Men, Beach Fossils, Destruction Unit...) as well as Shane Butler and Keven Lareau (Quilt) on guitar and bass, and Jackson Pollis (Real Estate) on drums. Its atmosphere draws on listening to bands such as Yo La Tengo, Suicide, Broadcast, Stereolab or The Gun Club. While Greenberg, known for the punk bands he has produced, may seem far removed from De Graaf's style, their encounter on *Fading Lines* was a magical moment that allowed for the recording of an album of ten formidable, ethereal tracks, including the single 'Turning Light,' inspired by an early morning meeting with Kevin Lareau. Amber Arcades has already had the opportunity to share these songs live alongside Palehound, another young Heavenly label signing, as well as for three evenings at London's Electric Ballroom as special guests of Nada Surf.
