Second album reissue from Glasgow, Scottish band The Almighty see their 1991 second album released on 180g coloured vinyl. With some clear and confident progress since their debut, The Almighty kick off with opening track "Crucify" featuring thunderous Van Halen-style drums and a scorching heavy metal riff evoking a Motorhead/Diamond Head union, before heading into deeper, groovier waters with "Praying To the Red Light" and "Devil's Toy". By the time the faster "Loaded" has kicked and rolled, Soul Destruction has fed rockers from all horizons and sub-genres, dirty and greasy enough to please dirty renegade outlaws, yet melodic and sophisticated enough to engage those who like soap and water. Surprisingly, it was produced by Duran Duran's Andy Taylor, and in May 1991, frontman Ricky Warwick told the Daily Record: "The album is about four basic things: hate, love, religion and sex. All these subjects fascinate me, especially sex..." subjects as timeless as this album reveals.
