Description

On their fourth album, the Atlanta group is full of collaborations, joined by Zach de la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine), Jae Matthews (Boy Harsher), Nadah El Shazly, Samuel T Herring (Future Islands), LaToya Kent (Mourning [A] BLKstar), Deforrest Brown Jr (Speaker Music), billy woods, Backxwash, Big Rube, Patrick Shiroishi, Lee Bains III, and Mark Cisneros. ‘Shook’ is an album made of jolts, exploring the different facets and interpretations of the term (loss, erosion of the familiar, social protests and revolts, excitement, etc.) through a plurality of voices and narrators. The 17 tracks that make up the album follow one another almost like a mixtape, perfectly capturing Algiers' energy while paying homage to major figures in rap and punk, such as DJ Grand Wizard, DJ Premier, DJ Screw, The Dead Boys, Lukah, or Griselda.
