Four Flies Records is proud to present Paesaggio Bellico, a collection of unreleased music by the legendary composer and multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Alessandroni. Paesaggio Bellico is a true hidden gem in the vast treasure trove of Italian film and library music. The album brings together themes and atmospheric pieces inspired by the world of war, seen not only from a military perspective but also from a profoundly human and existential one. These compositions have been meticulously exhumed from the original tapes written and recorded by the maestro between 1969 and 1978 for TV documentaries and war films. Each track embodies the unique sound that made Alessandroni an irreplaceable figure. His characteristic whistling—so recognizable to generations of genre enthusiasts—soars above delicate 12-string acoustic guitar arpeggios. The more dramatic tracks feature his iconic Fender Stratocaster, equipped with a fuzz distortion pedal. And, of course, Alessandroni's vocal group, the Cantori Moderni, omnipresent in his arrangements, makes its contribution, this time lending their voices to the most unsettling aspects of military psychology. An elegant string section adds depth and emotional impact to the more orchestral pieces, completing the picture of this monumental work.
