After their double album 'Figures' (2020), which marked the group's return to recording after several decades, Aksak Maboul takes a step aside with this total work, a suite of fifteen interconnected tracks leaning towards a revisited form of musical theatre. The common thread of 'Une aventure de VV (Songspiel)' is Véronique Vincent's text, a philosophical-poetic tale, whimsical and enigmatic, which unfolds in the form of monologues and dialogues spoken, chanted or sung by a series of characters. The music was written and arranged by Marc Hollander. One recognizes the joyful stylistic wandering he is accustomed to: bits of electronic, pop, jazz, collages, techno, ambient, krautrock, contemporary classical and minimalism are closely woven, in Aksak Maboul's inimitable way.
