A beautiful May of '78 saw the release of the third album by Australia's most rock-and-roll combo, an album that still smelled of sweat, blood, and brimstone. It was an opportunity for AC/DC to honorably introduce a new bassist, Cliff Williams, replacing Mark Evans, and to string together devilishly punchy tracks as easily as others string pearls. The tracklist of this 100% AC/DC certified album, with bits of real blues inside, featured hits, of course, like Sin City, Rock 'n' Roll Damnation, or Riff Raff, but also some masterpieces that were underestimated upon the album's release, which today, thanks to their perfect unity, elevate "Powerage" to the ranks of rock's great classics. This album also marked, in addition to the lineup change, the end of an era of studio production under the tutelage of the Young brothers and Harry Vanda.
