Orient - Vinyle Bleu

Description

A cult and ultra-rare Balearic synth-pop album by Japanese artist Hiroshi Sato dating from 1979, *Orient* is being released for the first time in France. Surrounded by the cream of Japanese musicians, including Shigeru Suzuki (guitar), Haruomi Hosono (bass), Tatsuo Hayashi (drums), and Pecker (percussion), Hiroshi Sato (keyboards, synthesizers) delivers throughout this album a superb blend of Japanese synth-pop and exotica, subtly tinged with 70s Herbie Hancock-esque funk and AOR. It notably features the classics "Son Go Kuw" and "Do-Jo." A must-have according to Gilles Peterson, the original now fetches a high price. With full remastering from the original tapes, Wewantsounds has taken the utmost care for this re-release, available on CD and deluxe LP, which includes a 4-page insert with original liner notes by journalist Yasufumi Amatatsu translated into English, as well as the track-by-track list of musicians.
