Released in March 1993, Suede is the fastest-selling debut album in the UK. The album contains what Rolling Stone calls "its triptych of instant classic singles" - "The Drowners", "Metal Mickey" and "Animal Nitrate". At the time, the album’s release in the United States was hindered by an injunction from an existing American band called Suede. As a result, the band’s subsequent albums in the US were branded as those of "The London Suede", but the debut album was never noted.
