"Repescagem" by Quartabê is a vibrant dive into the musical universe of Dorival Caymmi, reimagining his iconic melodies, harmonies, and bass lines with their own experimental touch. The album includes seven tracks, three of which are playful variations of "Quem Vem pra Beira do Mar," where the band swaps their usual instruments for nylon guitars and rich vocal harmonies—a nod to Caymmi's timeless style. With a mix of genres like reggae, eurodance, and samba jazz, the album also incorporates influences from Dalva de Oliveira and Dona Ivone Lara, making this release an eclectic and joyful celebration of Brazilian music.
