Three years after Life Like, Dead Bob returns with Nothing Changes Everything, an album that further expands the unpredictable universe imagined by John Wright, a cult figure of NoMeansNo. This time, the project goes far beyond the solo framework of its beginnings: Ford Pier, Byron Slack, Kristy Lee Audette, and Colin MacRae fully participate in the construction of a lively, nervous, and deliberately elusive album. Twisted post-punk, art rock, experimental punk, and wobbly melodies intersect throughout eight tracks that constantly refuse a straight line. Sometimes abrasive, sometimes surprisingly melodic, Nothing Changes Everything retains the irreverent and adventurous spirit that has always characterized John Wright, while allowing more room for collective play and contrasting atmospheres. A free, strange, and particularly endearing album, conceived without compromise or formatting.
