Created with Mike Brainchild, Toddla T, Tre-Jean Marie and Wretch 32, and with features from Jojo, Tiwa Savage and Louisa, one of the UK’s all-time greatest singers and songwriters returns this summer with a brand new album. ‘Commitment’ is Craig David’s ninth studio album and it’s a real triumph. Dripping in a resounding sense of joy and playfulness, the 13-track record balances a potent sense of confidence and exuberance with nimble nuance and delicate vulnerability. This is Craig David at his very best. Opening with the rallying cry of Wake Up, a standout UKG anthem, ‘Commitment’ covers the best of UK music, from the rich house choruses of Leave The Light On to the perfect tropical pop of SOS, and the warm Afrowave embrace on the gorgeous title track. Craig also seamlessly delivers those signature R&B riffs, ad-libs and runs throughout the album for which he is so known and loved. While there are nods to the past, this album is very much now. Like Craig’s classics before it, ‘Commitment’ embodies the best of what’s gone before, whilst pushing things resolutely forwards.
