AN VIRTUOSIC ALBUM OF SPIRITUAL JAZZ. FEAT. MULATU ASTATKE, BRANDEE YOUNGER, CHARLES TOLIVER & YUSEF LATEEF. 'Web Max', the fourth album by Web Web is a great work of spiritual jazz - sometimes floating, sometimes moving, always intense and a magnificent tribute to the jazz of the early 70s. Roberto Di Gioia, the mastermind behind Web Web, is joined for the first time by Max Herre as composer, musician, and producer. The two have come together with great musicians such as Mulatu Astatke, Brandee Younger, Charles Tolliver (Strata East), and others to deliver a virtuosic masterpiece. On "Akinuba / The Heart", one can hear the voice of Yusef Lateef, the saxophonist and flutist, who passed away in 2013. Signed to Compost Records, the label of Michael Reinboth, 'Web Max' is the fourth album in four years from the quartet composed of keyboardist and pianist Roberto Di Gioia, saxophonist Tony Lakatos, bassist Christian von Kaphengst, and drummer Peter Gall, all long-time musicians of the highest virtuosity.
