With “Sumu” Tribeqa returns with their first album since 2016. Tribeqa is a celebration of the meeting between cultures, instruments and rhythms. The four musicians proudly carry the colors of afro-soul-jazz-hiphop. Their optimistic groove, their sense of blending and their energy make them a safe bet. On this album, the prestigious guests bring their breath and their uniqueness: flutist Magic Malik, a true legend of contemporary jazz; Mr J. Medeiros, the Californian rapper spotted alongside 20SYL in their AllttA project, rapper Blacc El of Dafuniks as well as Wamian Kaïd. The modern griots Fatoma Dembele, Fanta Dembele, Maryam Diabaté and Dramane Dembele anchor the record in the red lands of Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire. For all ears, especially those that like to be surprised.
