Découvrez ‘Our Calling’, the magnificent album resulting from the collaboration between Piers Faccini & Ballaké Sissoko.
The exchange between Ballaké Sissoko and Piers Faccini began nearly 20 years ago, when the two artists met within the same record label: Label Bleu. Immediately, a fascinating dialogue was established between the London folk composer, passionate about African music, and the musician from Bamako, heir to the great tradition of the kora and Manding music. In 2020, by finding themselves on the same label, this time Nø Førmat, their exchanges were rekindled. Ballaké Sissoko then invited Piers Faccini to sing Kadidja, a song in Bambara, on his album Djourou. In the process, Piers Faccini composed another song for the duo: The Fire Inside. The two friends then decided to record an entire album together, scheduled for release in February 2025.
