Philippe Chatel spent 10 years preparing this new album, all in softness and melody. 40 years after his first hit in 1976, J't'aime bien Lili. With his style inspired by Georges Brassens, Philippe Châtel then represented a certain renewal of French chanson, like singer-songwriters such as Alain Souchon or Louis Chédid. These early successes were followed by the musical tale Emilie Jolie. The ambitious record written for his daughter and initially intended for children brought together the cream of chanson: Julien Clerc, Henri Salvador, Françoise Hardy, Sylvie Vartan, Robert Charlebois, Eddy Mitchell, Louis Chédid, Alain Souchon and Laurent Voulzy, Yves Simon, Isabelle Mayreau and even Georges Brassens, becoming a bestseller upon its release, which he directed in a new version in 1997 with Johnny Hallyday, Jacques Dutronc, Etienne Daho, Zazie and even Alain Bashung. His career is marked by solo hits that delight gold radio stations (Mr Hyde, Ma lycéenne, Yin-Yang). He definitely occupies a special place in French chanson for the romanticism and poetry of his work.
