Patrick Watson returns with a powerful new album inspired by the loss of his voice and surrounded by leading pop artists such as Charlotte Cardinn, Solann, November Ultra, MARO and Klô Pelgag.
What is life if not an endless series of "oh oh"? From our first childhood mishaps to our greatest adult anxieties, it is a little phrase that asserts itself throughout our lives. On the road to creating his new album, the Montreal indie-pop maestro Patrick Watson was confronted with the biggest "oh oh" a professional singer can endure.
One morning in the winter of 2023, Patrick wakes up and discovers that his voice - the angelic instrument that propelled Close to Paradise, the 2006 art-rock carnival opus, onto the podium of the Polaris Music Prize and made his piano lullaby "Je te laisserai des mots" the first French-language track to surpass one billion streams on Spotify - has completely gone silent.
He then considers composing so that the artists he loves and who surround him can sing, and composes a masterful album like a true pop-folk conductor. His voice finally restored and the album project preserved, we find Patrick Watson more inspired than ever and surrounded by leading collaborators: Charlotte Cardin, Charlotte Oleena, Hohnen Ford, Klô Pelgag, La Force, MARO, Martha Wainwright, November Ultra and Solann. Patrick Watson will be in concert at the Zénith de Paris on November 04, 2025 and on tour in Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes, Rouen and Lyon.
