First solo album for pianist, composer and theorist Nik Bärtsch, until now better known as the leader of the groups Ronin and Mobile. On this release, Nik Bärtsch offers a masterful dive into the most intimate depths of his musical thought. As its title suggests, Entendre aims to get as close as possible to the creative processes at work in Bärtsch’s meticulous unfolding of his polymetric modular pieces. Attentive to the dynamics of touch, finding freedom in forms of aesthetic restraint, fueling the flow of each piece in order to nourish its structural development while taking the music into new territories. Recorded at the Auditorio Stelio Molo RSI in Lugano in September 2020, the album was produced by Manfred Eicher.
