In RAW-Z, we had left Laylow in the midst of introspection about the adult he has become: a “half-blood prince” with dulled senses, confronted with a consumerist and comfortable society, quietly gnawed at by relationship difficulties, melancholy, and loneliness. Trinity is the virtual refuge he creates to escape this bland reality. An emotional stimulation software through which he saves himself from his torpor. During the listening experience of this album, the listener is invited to experience different forms of emotion, like so many programs offered by the software, always guided by Trinity’s voice. Their adrenaline level will rise to Piranha Baby or Akanizer, they will be caught in the labyrinth of romantic feeling with Poizon or Million Flowerz and absorbed by melancholy in Nakré or Logiciel Triste. The album’s strong cinematic imprint and the care taken to build immersive soundscapes make it an auditory experience that includes a powerful visual dimension. Even so, Trinity remains a work of rare sincerity. For his first album, Laylow lays himself bare completely and takes on the role of the main character in an audio film he himself conceived. The universe presented is fictional, but the narrator is very real. Trinity features several collaborations already seen in Laylow’s universe: S.Pri Noir, Jok'Air, Wit, as well as Dioscures, who produced most of the album. Lomepal, Alpha Wann and pianist Sofiane Pamart complete the list. Laylow once again proves that he is one of the most creative artistic figures in the French music landscape. Often going against the grain of rap conventions, he unfolds a technological universe where sentimentality, egotrip and a certain vision of the times coexist, always with a powerful ability to embody them. Welcome to the Trinity program.
