What a journey this little band from Michigan has made since the release of their first EP in 2014 and their cover of Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space' (soon to reach 53 million views on YouTube), which cracked the Top 100 of the US charts. Since then, I Prevail has confirmed their strong potential with the album 'Lifelines' (2016), which entered at number 15 on the charts (400,000 copies sold worldwide). Still led by the masterful voices of their two singers, Brian Burkheiser & Eric Vanlerberghe, I Prevail has just injected a good dose of melody into their metalcore. A track like 'Hurricane' perfectly reflects this ambivalence between harmonious passages and much more aggressive rises. It hits hard, but it doesn't prevent the choruses from getting irresistibly stuck in the listener's head.
