Best listened to in the womb, Stratosphere, the first album by Duster released in 1998, simultaneously crowned and reinvented the first wave of slowcore. A dreamlike landscape in four tracks that will wake the neighbors before putting them back to sleep. Arpeggiated and hazy guitars layer over a drummer who doesn't quite know where to position himself, while semi-audible voices warn against millennial discomfort and subtly encourage the listener to let go.
