It may seem surprising, but the best-selling album in the entire ACT catalog is Bugge Wesseltoft’s solo album “It’s snowing on my piano” (more than 150,000 copies sold worldwide). After this recording celebrating the Christmas season, Siggi Loch, the head of the ACT label, had always kept in mind the idea of a second opus devoted to spring. His meeting at the special setting of Schloss Elmau with classical violinist Henning Kraggerud (a member of an “all-start quintet” with Martha Argerich, Joshua Bell, Yuri Bashmet and Mischa Maisky), a great fan of Bugge’s first album on ACT, finally convinced him to contact the pianist for a new duo album. The magic of the meeting between the two musicians, at the crossroads of jazz and classical music, worked immediately in the studio. Between minimalist melodies, heavenly harmonies, Norwegian folk repertoire, as well as extreme attention to detail and an extraordinary musical understanding between two giants of their instrument, sixteen truly enchanting tracks to listen to all year round!
