BEAK> is a trio from Bristol made up of BILLY FULLER (FUZZ AGAINST FUNK), MATT WILLIAMS (TEAM BRICK) and GEOFF BARROW (a member of PORTISHEAD and the driving force behind the Invada label), formed in January 2009. Recorded live in a single room with no overdubs, their self-titled debut album was written in one go and under certain constraints during a 12-day studio session. With bass, drums and keyboards, the minimalist lineup follows in the footsteps of the greats: addictive motorik rhythms in the style of NEU! and CAN, hypnotic noisy dub à la JAH WOBBLE / P.I.L and jubilant wave overtones, everything is in place for a project as astonishing as it is accomplished.
