Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Lola Dompé (drums, vocals; her father is Kevin Haskins from Bauhaus), and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals) make up Automatic, a post-punk electronic band straight out of Los Angeles. They first met while immersed in L.A.'s DIY scene and began playing together in 2017. Over the past few years, they have become a staple in Los Angeles clubs. The explosive energy that Automatic brings to their concerts has earned the trio countless fans on the West Coast. They have shared the stage with bands such as Surfbort, Poptone, and Flat Worms. It was while working with producer Joo Joo Ashworth (FROTH) that Signal was born. This album fuses their taste for reggae dub with the intricate rhythms of synths inspired by Neu! and Suicide, all mixed with a cinematic pop sensibility. The influence of the strange and unsettling films and atmospheres of David Lynch and Dario Argento can particularly be heard.
