With "Wos," Attwenger presents its tenth studio album, a work that once again confirms why this band has been sweeping across the German-language music scene like a force of nature for nearly four decades. What began in 1991 with a cassette, a VHS tape, and the now-iconic phrase "Attwenger means thinking in dialect, means plunging your skull into cider" has become one of the country's most unique projects: a blend of slang punk, dialectal avant-garde, and anarchic groove that defies categorization. On "wos," electrifying accordion lines intertwine with punchy drum and sequencer rhythms. Words fray, stories swirl, language is twisted, stretched, dissected—then reassembled into a sound that is both deeply rooted and radically contemporary. Attwenger casts a critical eye on the state of an overheated society without moralizing. Instead, the band opens spaces between the lines: places for humor, escape routes, resistance, and unexpected liberating movements. "Wos is. is wos." — This album leaves no one indifferent. It challenges, grooves, grinds, questions, contradicts. And it proves once again: Attwenger remains inimitable.
