{"product_id":"zenzile_living-in-monochrome_2021_pia","title":"Living in Monochrome","description":"Discover the new vinyl reissue of Zenzile's album \"Living in Monochrome.\"\nBefore routine trapped them, Zenzile left the dub camp and, with this fifth album, returned to explore their original territory, where punk, reggae, new wave, and industrial music coexisted some thirty years ago. There is no inconsistency or sign of misdirection in this break. Each of the cited movements, in its time, reflected the same instinct against engulfment and decerebration, an instinct that, in an environment increasingly perceived as manipulated, today regains all its spontaneity. This new sound aesthetic does not betray any nostalgic attempt at escape, even if the Angers-based band leads us to reconnect, through memory, with Wire, The Ruts, X Ray Spex, or Public Image Limited. This return to harder and more offensive music is accompanied on half of the album by a breaking of silence, which Zenzile embraces through the voices of guest artists. Some – Jean Gomis, Jamika – are regulars, while others – Tricky, Paul St. Hilaire, or David Alderman (from Warehouse 99 House) – join the band for the first time. The other half of Living in Monochrome consists of instrumental tracks which, while not strictly dub, navigate in that meditative ozone (Pipe Dream) sometimes torn by the wail of a saxophone or guitar (the Pink Floyd-esque Offshore).","brand":"Zenzile","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55304204616024,"sku":null,"price":20211008.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/5400863051341_3fba4a70-314e-427f-a179-42313b763842.jpg?v=1772564687","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/zenzile_living-in-monochrome_2021_pia","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
