Mr Bongo is proud to present AFIM, the second solo album from one of the most promising talents on the new Brazilian scene: Zé Ibarra. You may know Ibarra's captivating and hypnotic voice from his work with Bala Desejo, a group of four musicians that won a Latin Grammy, or with the band Dônica. He also accompanied the legend Milton Nascimento on tour, on guitar and vocals - a true honor and a shining testament to his talent. As a solo artist, he has headlined concerts in Japan, Portugal, and the United States, and has just finished a supporting tour with the great Seu Jorge.AFIM consists of eight tracks, blending Ibarra's original compositions with covers of contemporary artists and friends, such as Sophia Chablau, Tom Veloso, and Dora Morelenbaum. The album combines elements of MPB, jazz, pop, and progressive rock, in a bold and confident style.
