It's Not Too Late

"I can say that the album Il n'est pas trop tard was created by chance. A few years ago, with Lisa Gerrard, we visited the synagogue of a small town about a hundred kilometers from Krakow, Bobowa. When we entered the synagogue, Lisa started singing. It seemed the place had stunning acoustics. I then said to Lisa: 'let's try to record something here. The rule was simple: I prepared themes and we recorded live. Lisa heard what I was playing for the first time during the recording and she improvised. We recorded nine compositions in 45 minutes. It was meant to be a holiday joy. Six years later, I revisited the material we had recorded and decided to finish it. What remains of the original recording is Lisa's voice. I composed and recorded everything else in my studio. Dominik Wania played piano, Magdalena Pluta played cello, and Jerzy Glowczewski played saxophone. That is how the album Il n'est pas trop tard was born."
