Yvette Horner was born in 1922 in Tarbes. After winning the World Accordion Championship in 1948, she received the Grand Prix du Disque in 1950. She established her popularity by accompanying the Tour de France caravan eleven times. During her 70-year career, Yvette Horner gave over 2,000 concerts and released 150 records, with total sales reaching 30 million copies. Appointed officer and then commander of the National Order of the Legion of Honor, Yvette Horner is also a commander of the National Order of Merit.
