Fly

Description

REISSUE OF THREE CULT ALBUMS BY YOKO ONOWhat you hear on Fly is the disarming combination of Yoko Ono's visceral and blossoming transparency. It is one of the most unrestrained and captivating albums ever created. Yoko succeeded in her gamble by provoking contrasting feelings in the listener: vulnerability and open-mindedness, thus allowing her to impose her vision of the world. Yoko Ono excels in the art of turning minds. Firstly, the track 'Midsummer New York' jostles with diabolical kicks. It is always the unexpected that happens with Yoko Ono, such as the moment when the artist communicates with Elvis. Then, we find the ravaged blues of 'Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her Hand in The Snow)', filled with pain and raw emotions; this track is both a declaration of love and a plea for forgiveness to her mother Kyoko who lives far from her. The emotional rollercoaster continues with 'Mrs. Lennon', a song of solitary heartache. This is what this album provokes: you are exhausted, euphoric, and you are only a quarter of the way up the mountain that is Fly, yet it is largely worth climbing.
