Aged 35, Yaron Herman is one of the most talented jazz pianists of his generation. The one who almost became a professional basketball player now performs concerts, shows, and lectures around the world. His philosophical and mathematical approach to music sparks the interest of other musicians. His new project oscillates between jazz and pop featuring Matthieu Chedid, Dream Koala, Patrick Watson, Hugh Coltman. During his readings and research, Yaron often encountered the letter Y, which seems to carry a great number of meanings. A symbol present in many traditions, it evokes the notion of crossroads, choice, and the synthesis of opposites. In this album, he chose to fully embrace an approach he has cultivated for a long time: bringing together people and musical influences that belong to the same common trunk, to the same family, beyond labels.
