L'absente

Description

On the theme of absence, Yann Tiersen, after collaborating with Françoiz Breut and les Têtes Raides on their respective albums, composed an entire album in which, for the first time, the songs take precedence over the minimalist instrumental pieces characterizing his previous works (children's instruments, etc.).
Orchestrated, rich, and more accessible, "L'Absente" is also an opportunity to listen with real delight to the collaborations between the Breton and some kindred spirits: Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy), Lisa Germano, Christian Quermalet (The Married Monk), Christine Ott, actress Natacha Régnier, Dominique A., les Têtes Raides, a string quartet, etc.
In the end, an album that, certainly, still does not indulge in frivolity, but which is more accomplished and more accessible than anything Tiersen has done so far.
