Xylitol, aka DJ Bunnyhausen, debuts on Planet Mu with the album Anemones, a project that merges the spirit of braindance with the current sounds of the club landscape. The album is distinguished by icy melodies that intertwine with a fierce variety of breakbeats. Bleeps and breaks are perceived as if through a hazy aquatic filter. Amidst chopped drums, agitated rhythms, and two-step claps, glimmering hybrids like the footwork/electro track 'Dasa' emerge. Another standout is 'Rosi,' hyper-compressed and bitcrushed, with its digitized yet ancient atmosphere, where liquid synth concoctions seem to burst through cellular walls.
