{"product_id":"xavier-plumas_rose-amere-vinyl_2023_lad","title":"ROSE-AMERE (vinyl)","description":"Xavier Plumas, author, composer, singer, and guitarist for Tue-Loup, surprised us in 2009 when he broke free to deliver his first solo album, tinged with dark brass and delicate electronica (La gueule du Cougouar). Five years later, Le cabinet vaudou des curiosités d'Adèle enchanted us with the subtlety of its production and the assured taste of its arrangements. Finally, in 2018, while the lyrics scattered across Bashung's posthumous works reminded us how much Plumas ranks among the finest lyricists of his time, singer Xavier achieved a peak with Mayerling that few can ascend. His Mont Analogue, in a way (but completed, unlike its namesake), much like the reference in his new album's title to René Daumal's book.This fourth album, 'Rose-amère,' is like a sky that reveals itself with each track, delivering a dazzling light, one that never lets go. It must be said that most of the songs were composed during lockdown, as a way for Xavier to remain an actor in his own life, to escape confinement through daily walks in the countryside. A source of inspiration for the Sarthois, as is often the case. These songs question life as a whole, human and non-human, the body as a sensitive and loving being, the voices of dreams and the past that accompany us in the present...It was during a shared stage performance with the band Berikely that Xavier had the idea of entrusting the arrangements for this album to his Franco-Malagasy friends: his loyal accomplice Eric Doboka on double bass, Bema on percussion, and Astrid Veigne on vocals (already noted on La peau des arbres, the last Tue-Loup album).By also bringing in Christian d'Asfeld on piano and Cédric Thimon on saxophone, and giving them ample freedom for improvisation, Xavier Plumas and his musicians imbued these acoustic compositions with a timeless, unfashionable jazz-folk color, where the boundaries between song, primitive music, and free improv intertwine and disappear. Like our thoughts carried away by the river in the misty light of dawn...In the nearby garden, the cat, so calm a moment before, suddenly takes on the appearance of a great wild beast. Or how songs composed on a guitar in a small kitchen can become magnificent canoes, ready to take us on a journey far beyond ourselves.","brand":"Xavier Plumas","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310248968536,"sku":null,"price":20230526.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3521381578010_678d4463-8710-406f-8124-c17131220607.jpg?v=1760318446","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/xavier-plumas_rose-amere-vinyl_2023_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
