French avant-garde rock/metal duo WuW are the next addition to Pelagic’s ever-growing roster of avant-garde artists. Taking inspiration from classical music, free jazz, and drone rock, classically trained brothers Benjamin and Guillaume Colin have been crafting doomy experimental lo-fi post-rock epics in the vein of Year Of No Light, Dirge, and Omega Massif since 2016.
“WuW is the sound the wind makes when it blows on a hot night,” the band explains; “It’s a low-end whisper that goes straight to your guts, a breath of air that rushes through mountains and oceans.” Their upcoming third full-length, “L’Orchaostre,” is a hymn to a very turbulent journey, an impressive five-part instrumental doom symphony that creates a shroud of oppressive atmospheres with only a tiny glimmer of light.
