Thick fuzz, thunderous riffs, unsettling vocals – we are delighted to find the hallmarks of the now quartet doom/sludge band WITCHFINDER in their new album ‘Forgotten Mansion’. A quartet, then, since Kevyn Raecke joined the band on keyboards earlier this year. The psychedelic dimension of their compositions takes on a whole new scale with the addition of this new musician, whose unsettling and theatrical effects contrast with the sound. - - - - - THE BAND: Formed in 2016 in Clermont-Ferrand, the psychedelic stoner doom quartet WITCHFINDER combines gloomy keyboard notes, ultra-saturated hypnotic vocals, and an uncompromising rhythm section. - - As a trio, Witchfinder released a self-titled debut album in 2017 and gained recognition within the doom scene thanks to the power of their live performances. They were invited to open for heavyweights of the genre: Elder, Red Fang, Corrosion Of Conformity, Dopethrone, Ufomammut, Conan, Monolord, Kadavar, Hangman’s Chair... - - Their second opus, ‘Hazy Rites,’ is a meticulous concentration of hardcore and sludge influences, with massive doom added in. - - The latest EP, "Endless Garden," marked Kevyn Raecke's debut on keyboards. He pushes the now quartet towards a more ghostly style, on the border of heavy metal and psychedelic rock. Thanks to this EP, Witchfinder establishes a strong personality and is praised by critics, who are definitely awaiting their next effort. Witchfinder's new album ‘Forgotten Mansion’ was produced by Satanic Audio (Behemoth, Dopelord) in Poland.
