After the self-produced The Outside Room in 2011, Natalie Mering aka Weyes Blood released The Innocents in 2014, a melancholic album of raw emotional beauty. The album takes its roots in American and British folk and stretches it to its extremes, juxtaposing traditional instruments (piano, guitar, drums) with collages, tapes, delay effects, and electro. A haunted music reminiscent of the 1961 film of the same name.
