Description

We Sell The Dead was formed in 2016 by guitarist Niclas Engelin (In Flames & Engel) and singer/bassist Jonas Slättung (Drömriket). The band was quickly joined by Apollo Papathanasio, former frontman of Firewind & Spiritual Beggar, drummer Oscar Nilson (Engel), and keyboardist Petter Olsson. Together they create an interesting, raw, and dark heavy metal mix with calm sequences and melancholic riffs. Despite the Victorian era reference, We Sell The Dead represents a very modern and contemporary musical approach that reflects the world we live in. "Black Sleep" features 10 new heavy metal tracks inspired by the Victorian era, expressing an unsettling blend with softer nuances that together form a striking experience of life and death. We Sell The Dead produces authentic, raw, and dark music that deals with humanity's fears, dreams, and hopes. This notion is highlighted, notably on the album's eponymous track "Black Sleep," and also on "Across The Water." This new album benefits from the new synergy within the band since drummer Oscar Nilson joined after Gas Lipstick's departure.
