By Any Beats Necessary is the fifth album conceived on the road during his last tour in the United States.
Thought of as a road trip, this rewriting of the myth of the Wild West takes us on this imagined road, free from the ages where blues, psychedelic rock, soul, funk, and hip hop collide.
It features some prestigious hitchhikers including Tricky, the enfant terrible of Bristol, and Lee Fields, the godfather of the retro soul scene. Also in the lineup are the cream of US rap with legends like Ghostface Killah from Wu Tang Clan and R.A The Rugged Man. He also invites the rising stars of this hip hop scene with the phenomenon Token, who stirs up the web, reminiscent of the early days of Eminem, or A-F-R-O, the young prodigy from L.A already endorsed by all his peers. We also find the sensual voices of Charlotte Savary and Sara Genn, the sharp flows of Mattic and Raashan Ahmad, as well as his new protégé, IDIL, a young singer for whom he will soon produce the first album.
With “By Any Beats Necessary,” Wax Tailor takes us on a path that is outside of fleeting trends, at the crossroads of modernity and musical heritage.
